Project Overview
|
Mine was mostly about women's rights in the workplace so i researched things such as maternity leave and equal pay and added a lot of that into my synthesis essay. This was a big topic for me because i feel that women are very powerful and they should get the same pay as men and they should have their job be guaranteed when they leave on maternity leave because it's important for them to start a family too. I also talked a lot about how there has been many women's marches and peaceful protests to try to get the equal rights that we deserve.
Academic Skills
- We learned how to do a lot of writing and apply what we had read into a informative article. We also learned how to find sources that were biased and cite them correctly. Just a lot of stuff to strengthen our writing and make sure we know that do’s and don'ts of writing. This is very helpful because most of us are going to need this for any college class of future high school class to make our writing a lot better and make us look more informed on how to write correctly.
Life skills
- For this we learned how to keep our opinions out of the way of our friendships because there was a lot of arguing but in the end we realized that we all have our opinions and that we should be respectful of others opinions aswell even if it isn't the same as your opinion. The writing can also go under this category because it's something we need to do in life so that was also very helpful.
Reflection
- I thought that this project was really good because we had a lot of freedom on what we could write on but there was also a lot of structure on what we had to complete and I think that that is a very good mix to keep the students interested on what they are writing. It also really pushed us to fight for what we believe in by using our words and helping us find our voice and our opinions.
