My internship site!
My internship site is with Dr Kauffman at his lab at UCSD. His lab is looking at the differences between the male and female brain and how it can affect our everyday life. They do this by looking at mice brains at a certain part of it and they are looking for kisspeptin in the hypothalamus.
I am so excited to be able to work in a lab, it has been one of my dreams since I heard about internship my freshman year. I think that I will be able to apply the things that I am learning from the books to what I am doing with my hands in the lab. I hope to learn things that can apply to my college career such as, working in a lab, and having a mentor that I can reach out too when I need something. I hope to learn a lot more about the brain because that is the main reason that I am going to this internship is to expand my knowledge on the brain and how it works
